The first post

Hello all,
I'm a scientist working at the Lawrence Berkeley lab and I work on electrochemical energy storage (see http://berc.lbl.gov/venkat). This is basically batteries, but I know a lot about fuel cells also. This blog will be my views (which are ALWAYS right!) on energy and the hype/truth on this subject. This no-holds-barred commentary will be informative, entertaining, and up-to-date. In other words, welcome to the "no spin zone". Ouch... someone shoot me for saying that!
Questions such as:
Is there a hybrid vehicle in your future?,
Is the hydrogen economy something to even spend time thinking about?
Why is my cell phone burning?
Why is my laptop also joining this bonfire party?
Is it morally wrong to drive an SUV (hint: No!)

will be analyzed, pondered, dissected, probed etc.
